A dramatic innovation in thermocouple design; the patented Eroding Thermocouple provides temperature data which has never been available before. This innovative design puts the thermocouple junction exactly at the end of the surface probe. It can be machined to most any shape, erode or wear away up to 1/2 inch during the process and continuously renewing it's own junction "while being eroded." Additionally, it has response times in the millisecond range and can be designed to measure either of the two distinct temperatures at the surface of a wall or chamber. One is the wall surface temperature (thermally grounded units). Second, is the interface or gas temperature at the surface of the wall (thermally Ungrounded).

All of these thermocouples are made with a stainless steel housing. The useful range of the thermocouple element inside may exceed the melting point of stainless steel (2,550 degrees Fahrenheit). Therefore, we suggest you contact one of our engineers with the unique details of use for temperatures expected to be above this range.
