Mixer temperature sensors use either the Nanmac Right-Angle Ribbon Thermocouple sensor or a Pt100 ohm RTD. Hot water or steam-jacketed mixers usually control the termpature by measuring and controlling the hot water or steam flowing in the double jacketed walls of the mixer. In order to accurately measure the mix temperature, the sensor when installed through the double wall must meet the following conditions: must be flush with the inside surface of the inner wally and not protrude into the mix, must not create any conduction errors by its very existence, must have fast response, and it must be leak-tight.
Our exclusive Mixer Thermocouples meet this criteria utilizing ribbon thermocouple elements. Our Pt100 RTD elements can measure the true mix temperatures inside your water or steam-jacketed mixers and blenders. All Pt100 RTD devices are of sanitary design with the sensor separated from the material within the mixer by a 0.015 inch thick stainless steel diaphragm (designed into the sensor). Thermocouples requiring sanitary design are also available by adding the diaphragm to the thermocouple device.
Applications
- Measure and control the temperatures within a steam and hot water jacketed mixer or blender.
- Used in manufacturing: silicone products, corking components, food, medicine, rocket propellants, ect.
